JUNK NEW YORK — OPENING CAMPAIGN
ROLE: One Male Talent — “The US Customs Officer”
PROJECT: Social Media Video / Instagram Reel
LOCATION: Paris, France
FORMAT: Short-form branded content (25–30 seconds)
THE CONCEPTTo celebrate the upcoming opening of Junk in New York, we are shooting a short comedic video set at a US airport customs checkpoint. At the heart of the video is an interrogation scene: a seasoned American customs officer questioning a traveller, with all the tension, suspicion and deadpan seriousness of the real thing, until the comic twist.
THE ROLE — THE CUSTOMS OFFICER
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT — ESSENTIAL
Native American English speaker.Authentic, natural US accent and pronunciation.Delivers his lines with total seriousness and perfect comic timing. No noticeable French accent. This is a key casting requirement. We are specifically looking for a native American speaker, not simply someone fluent in English.
THE CHARACTERA veteran officer who has seen it all. Stern, intimidating and unshakeable at first glance, he runs the interrogation by the book: slow questions, long silences, a piercing stare. Beneath the authority lies a dry sense of humour, and the comedy comes from how seriously he takes everything.
LOOK & STYLE
Age range: 50–70 years old.Overall look: authoritative, weathered, unmistakably American.Hair: short or receding, natural grey or white welcome. Moustache or beard is a plus.Should feel like a real officer rather than a traditional commercial actor.
PERSONALITY & ACTING
Commanding screen presence.Strong comic timing, with a talent for deadpan delivery.Able to hold tension in an interrogation scene: pauses, stares, raised eyebrows.Expressive without being overly theatrical.Natural and believable on camera. The humour should come from playing it completely straight.
EXPERIENCE & AVAILABILITY
Previous acting experience (film, theatre, commercials or improv) is a plus, but not mandatory.Comfortable acting on camera in a studio or set environment.Available for a one-day shoot in Paris mid-november
HOW TO APPLYSend recent photos (face and full length) and a short video introduction. Please include a line read in English, delivered with the stern seriousness of a customs officer, for example: “Anything to declare?”
